Secondary School Schulstraße
Berlin, Germany
The new high school building on Schulstraße in Berlin-Wedding integrates into the heterogeneous urban context through its clear articulation and diverse architectural expression. The concept of a “learning neighborhood within the district” creates a strong connection between school and city, dividing the school into smaller, identity-forming units. Through flexible spatial organization and a modular construction system, an adaptable building is created that supports forward-looking educational concepts. The use of timber and concrete as construction materials promotes sustainability, while generous daylight access and varied outdoor spaces, such as green roofs and garden islands, enhance well-being and improve the local microclimate.
