With the Soulhouse Flagship Studio, a massage studio has been created as a haven of peace in the city in the centre of Hamburg-Harvestehude. The interior design from BGA Beissert+Gruss architects is based on clear, timeless design, that radiates peace and mindfulness. "The goal of a massage is to achieve a complete inner harmony where body and soul are brought into unison" according to the planners. The interior design conveys exactly this principle to the space itself, laying the foundation stone for the brand architecture of the start-up. The architecture itself thus becomes a component of the therapy. For this purpose, BGA developed the corporate architecture – from the ground plan layout via the material concept to the ritualising interior fittings.

The design is based on the finely matched material and colour concepts: light plaster surfaces meet terrazzo-like floors, dark wood and black accents. In the treatment rooms, a reduced design language ensures a calming atmosphere. Arched wall openings and flowing room transitions underline the feeling of security and retreat. The interplay of natural textures and the handcrafted finish of the surfaces create a haptic warmth. Dark wood, graphite black details and textile elements form contrasts to the light, mineral surfaces. Precise lighting direction accentuates the impressions of the spaces – sometimes indirect, sometimes focussed.

The technology remains discretely in the background and supports the atmosphere in subtle ways. The JUNG switches and sockets from the LS 990 range in matt graphite black insert themselves harmoniously into the design concept with their matt surface. Dimmers enable flexible lighting control, which is perfectly matched to the differing requirements of the massage rooms.
