The modern city villa on the edge of Munich has been built to the plans of Stephan Maria Lang architects as a sculptural structure in the style of the Classic Modern architecture. Stephan Maria Lang understands his buildings as complete works of art which always include the location and nature of the garden as well as the internal room design as one unit. The architect feels inspired by Richard Neutra as much as by Frank Lloyd Wright. This design ideology can also be discerned inside and outside with Haus GR31 which is located near a wood.
The T-shaped villa offers plenty of space for a family with spacious terraces and an indoor pool. The lavishly designed garden creates a protected, private space that is still closely connected to the natural landscape around it. The white building structure with flat roof stands in a design contrast to the rough natural stone elements of the garden walls, the fence and the entrance area in plain brass.
The reduced but demanding material and colour concept continues indoors with oak parquet and local limestone for the flooring, dark wood panels and stylish built-in furniture. White walls contrast here as well with robust natural stonework. Floor-to-ceiling windows and large sliding elements allow the internal rooms to open out into the garden. Every detail is precisely designed, always with the aspiration of exclusivity. That the most modern technology is also used is self-evident. The house is equipped with intelligent KNX technology which controls the house technology. F 40 push-buttons from JUNG in antique brass design and LS 990 sockets in single and multiple frames with their simple shape integrate harmoniously into the various wall materials. In some cases, the push-buttons are also installed into specially created niches.
House GR31 combines architecture and nature, the beauty of materials with simple design, convenience and energy efficiency – and all of it with a touch of luxury.
