C+S Architects is an architecture brand founded by Carlo Cappai and Maria Alessandra Segantini, with offices in Venice and London.
The office works internationally in the different fields of architecture, urban design and interior design both for the private and the public sectors.
The office is looking at twenty current projects all over the world.
C+S has won a series of international competitions: Redevelopment of the Ex-Cavalry Barracks in Tervuren, Belgium, the Policlinic Hospital in Milan, the Tenova headquarters in Varese, the Law-Court offices in Venice, a housing complex in Japan, university students’ housing in Murano (Venice), many projects for school buildings and social housing.
C+S have been awarded with the BigMat National Award in 2017 (Italy), the Medaglia d’Oro dell’Architettura Italiana 2012 (Special Prize), the Mies Van der Rohe Award 2009 (Selection), the FarbDesign Preis in München, the SFIDE 2009 of the Italian Ministry of Environment, the In/Opera Award 2010 and the Premio Oderzo 2004.
Their work is published in the most important architectural reviews such as: 2G (E), Abitare (I), AD (GB), Area (I), A+U (JA), Architectural Review (GB), AW (DE), Bauwelt (DE), Casabella (I), D’Architettura (I), Detail (DE), Domus (I), L’Architecture d’Aujord’hui (F), Loggia (ES), Spazio e Società (I), Taiwan Arctitect (China), The Plan (I) and The Phaidon Atlas of 21st Century World Architecture (UK).
Their work was exibited in the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale and presented at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. They had a solo exhibition at the MIT in Boston.
The founding partners have lectured worldwide and have been visiting professors in many universities among which the MIT in Boston.
