Shonan Port Yacht House

Kanagawa, Japan

This is a reconstruction project of a yacht house (designed by Yoshiro Taniguchi and Suijo Yamada) built in 1964. The theme of the project is to create a harbor that is open to everyone, and the proposal is to create a large void under the roof that catches the light like a wave and provides a place for harbor users and the general public. The foyer will provide a space where visitors can relax and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of Shonan from the foyer, and will serve as a new base for Enoshima.
